The heart of the Spillman system lies in the Integrated Hub - the foundation for the system's key components including a single-source database, master tables, Geobase, and message center. These core features of Integrated Hub create seamless data flow among different departments and all users within an agency.

Centralized Master Tables
Integrated Hub stores the master names, vehicles, property, wanted persons, on-call
scheduling, resources, dissemination, and profiling tables, with a single
entry/single inquiry feature to reduce duplicate data entry. Another benefit
of the centralized database is the extensive auto data field population among
different tables. For example, when a dispatcher begins adding a call, the
information obtained from the call automatically populates in a name or property
record. This reduces the need for dispatchers to re-enter information for
one incident multiple times in several different databases or tables.
Every module within the Spillman
system pulls information from these
master tables, so any data that is
entered is automatically available
throughout the entire system in real
time. |

Messaging Center
The Integrated Hub enables immediate communication between all system users with
e-mail and instant messaging capabilities. Sending out an ATL, BOLO, or Amber
Alert to all system users, including mobile patrol units, is simple and fast,
which increases the likelihood of apprehending a suspect or rescuing a kidnapped
child. The software is also ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) compliant,
allowing your agency to access both Windows® and UNIX® applications
to extract data via SQL queries.

Accurate Geobase
Spillman’s Integrated Hub also comes with Geobase, allowing you to build
a database of detailed street and address information about your jurisdiction.
Each time you enter an address the software performs a search and displays all
matching addresses from the database. It lists the city and the x- and y-coordinates
of each address so that you can select the correct one. The program also automatically
verifies that addresses entered are valid, so units will not be dispatched to
a location that does not exist. Automatic alerts notify the dispatcher if an
address is not valid.

Single Source Open Database and
GJXDM
The open architecture design of the Spillman database supports industry standards
such as Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and SQL so data is readily
accessible. The software also incorporates the Global Justice XML Data Model
which lets agencies, including emergency services and courts, search the system
without developing costly interfaces. This feature makes it possible for agencies
within a region to share one central Spillman database between “host” and “shared” agencies,
and public safety agencies across a region or state using different vendors or
disparate systems can also share information with Spillman InSight. For more
details on Spillman software’s data sharing capabilities, visit our Data
Sharing solutions.
