If you really need to be impressed in order to purchase the Spillman product line, call those who alraedy use it. I called more than a dozen agencies using the products I needed across the country and I couldn't get one agency to say anything negative. When I asked one system administrator to evaluate technical support, he told me he couldn't because he had never had to contact them.

Key Benefits:

Field Reporting

Spillman’s ERS Fire and EMS Records interface allows you to efficiently complete reports from the field, reducing the need to return to the station to fill out paperwork. Reporting features like red and green icons show you which steps are complete and which have yet to be completed, preventing you from submitting a report until all required data has been entered. You can view a list of reports you need to complete or review, submit a report for approval, view the report’s status, and set up a request for notification when the report is complete.

Real-time Communication

Maintain constant communication with dispatchers and department personnel using Spillman. Using the Fire Mobile CAD module, you can view calls in real time as dispatchers receive them, allowing you to receive call assignments faster and respond more quickly. The module enables you to update your unit and call status as well as view address and radio log history information. You can also view the status of other responding units and see contact information, premises data, additional address information, and dispatch comments directly from the CAD screen. Using Spillman’s Fire Mobile AVL Mapping module, you can update your unit status with a single touch from the map screen.  Spillman’s HipLink Paging interface allows dispatchers to send phone numbers, alphanumeric messages, call details, and incident updates to your pager manually or automatically based on the type and nature of the emergency.

Efficient Mapping

The Fire Mobile AVL Mapping module allows you to view the current location of all responding units on your agency’s map, along with contact information and color-coded statuses. You can use the Quickest Route feature of the Fire Mobile AVL Mapping module to determine the ideal route to a call, and use the map to quickly access information about important on-scene resources as well as any associated premises and HazMat records. Large Mobile toolbar buttons allow you to use a touch screen easily, even while driving or wearing gloves.

Safe, Efficient Response

View critical information about an occupancy while responding to a call, including any hazardous materials and chemicals stored on site, floor plans, and alarm locations, using Spillman’s Fire Mobile Premises and HazMat module. You can access information on residential, commercial, or public lots throughout your fire department’s jurisdiction from a laptop computer. The module also enables your agency to quickly search and view chemicals in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) CAMEO Chemicals system, which displays full chemical details and helps personnel predict reactivity dangers if specific chemicals are combined. Use Spillman’s Response Plans module to prepare planned responses, including personnel and equipment recommendations and incident instructions. You can define which agencies and units will respond to a fire or EMS call and view a comprehensive list of resources, such as equipment or vehicles, available within your agency or a neighboring agency’s jurisdiction.

Manage Inspections

Scheduling and tracking inspections is simplified with Spillman’s ERS Fire and EMS Records interface. You can create custom inspection templates for specific types of buildings, such as schools and grocery stores. Using the interface, you can also set up an inspection schedule, review past inspections, view special permits, and track code violations.

Data Transferring

Immediately access critical call information using the ERS Fire and EMS Records interface. Information gathered in Spillman’s CAD module is automatically transferred into the corresponding reporting fields, including incident number, call date and time, address, and incident narrative. Spillman’s Firehouse and Zoll FRMS interfaces allow you to automatically transfer fire call information collected in Spillman’s Computer-Aided Dispatch module to the appropriate fields in your Firehouse or Sunpro Fire Records System. The Firehouse interface automatically creates Firehouse records for data entry personnel to complete when the incident is over.
