Sheridan County to advance data collection using Spillman

SHERIDAN, Wyo. – Sept. 26, 2007 – In an effort to better serve its growing community, the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office is adopting new public safety software from Spillman Technologies.

In November, the Wyoming county of approximately 26,500 residents will go live with Spillman's Integrated Hub, Law Records module, Jail Records module, State Link module, InSight data sharing solution, and other Spillman products.

The integrated system will allow the agency to more efficiently manage and share data. At the Sheridan County Detention Center, Spillman's Jail Records module will be used to help streamline inmate booking and other correctional procedures.

Using Spillman's Law Records module, Sheridan County Sheriff's Office personnel will also be able to easily generate incident reports and link information on people, property, and vehicles associated with a case.

Over the next several years, we expect to see a steady increase in population and so we also expect to see an increase in the number of calls for service,” said Sheriff Dave W. Hofmeier. The Sheridan County Sheriff's Office is sure that their investment in the Spillman public safety software will aid in managing the rising number of demands on the office's resources.”

Hofmeier said the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office chose Spillman software to replace an older system that could not keep up with the agency's growing needs. With the Spillman system, he said, the County will be able to share information with neighboring jurisdictions and analyze data to identify crime trends.

The Sheridan County Sheriff's Office is confident that Spillman is exactly the solution we were hoping for,” Hofmeier said. We know the new software will provide us with all the necessary tools, open doors to information sharing, and provide us with an added resource when working to solve current crimes.”

Hofmeier said agency personnel are eagerly anticipating Spillman's single-source database. In the past, he said, officers and administrators had to enter data into two or more systems to document an incident. With Spillman, data can be entered once and then automatically populated into the appropriate fields.

The Spillman Public Safety System will help the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office achieve its efficiency goals,” said Joe Lunt, vice president of sales and marketing for Spillman Technologies. We are confident that Spillman software will serve as a valuable resource to this agency.”
The Sheridan County Sheriff's Office will become one of 22 agencies in Wyoming and more than 700 agencies nationwide that use Spillman software.

Spillman Technologies provides a full range of software solutions for public safety agencies, including Computer-Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Mobile Communications, Corrections Management, Fire/EMS Management, Resource Management, and Data Sharing.
