Agency improves dispatch with Spillman Technologies

SALT LAKE CITY – Nov. 13, 2008 – The Tooele County Communications Center is using Spillman Technologies to help them advance their dispatch, mapping, and imaging capabilities.

The center is one of 103 agencies in Utah and more than 700 agencies nationwide using Spillman, a leading public safety provider headquartered in Salt Lake City. They went live with the software over the summer.

The agency is using Spillman's Hub and Computer-Aided Dispatch, CAD Mapping, State Link, Imaging, and Pin Mapping modules.

The Tooele County Communications Center is also using Spillman's ProQA interface. The interface saves dispatchers time because it allows important medical data gathered in ProQA to be automatically populated into the correct Spillman CAD fields.

Using the CAD Mapping module, the communications center has the ability to view information like street names, major buildings, and landmarks on a map of their jurisdiction. Dispatchers can quickly dispatch a call by dragging the police unit symbol over the call symbol.

Dispatchers can use the CAD module to better track and dispatch calls. The software allows them to easily manage call records and maintain accurate records. Dispatch personnel can customize the CAD status screen to meet their preferences, allowing them to work quickly and efficiently.

With Spillman's Imaging module, Tooele County can quickly import, edit, and store a variety of images. Personnel can attach electronic images of people, vehicles, evidence, and property to records throughout the Spillman system.

Spillman provides a full range of software solutions for public safety agencies, including Records Management, Computer-Aided Dispatch, Mobile Communications, Corrections Management, Fire/EMS Management, Resource Management, and Data Sharing.
