Durango PD improves data management with Spillman
SALT LAKE CITY – Jan. 19, 2008 – The Durango Police Department is using software from Spillman Technologies to manage law incident records, import and edit images, and query state and national databases for information.
The Colorado agency went live in July 2008 with Spillman's Integrated Hub and InSight, and Records, Mobile, and Resources solutions. The Durango Police Department will become one of 28 agencies in Colorado and more than 750 agencies across the nation using Spillman software.
With Spillman's Pin Mapping module, officers will be able to plot criminal activity data on a pin map. The department can use the data to visualize trends, and analyze crime-reducing methods.
Using Spillman's Premises and HazMat module, the department can increase officer safety by recording information about commercial, public, and private residences. Personnel can use this information to respond quickly and accurately to calls at unfamiliar sites. The module also alerts responding officers to any hazardous materials stored at the site.
The Durango Police Department can share data with the Southern Ute Tribal Police Department and the La Plata County Sheriff's Office, both current Spillman customers. Using Spillman's InSight product, the Durango Police Department can also query the databases of non-Spillman agencies for information on names, vehicles and property. The ability to share information between multiple jurisdictions will help the Durango Police Department increase officer safety and improve public safety across the region.
