Sen. Roberts announces $17,200 grant for law enforcement equipment in Emporia

WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 — The office of Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., issued the following news release:

U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $17,200 grant to the city of Emporia for law enforcement equipment.

The funds will be used to purchase a Spillman RMS premise database component to add to the Emporia Police Department records management system. The database component will allow the department to track dangerous residences in the area providing increased safety for law enforcement officers. With the addition of the new equipment, the Emporia Police Department and the Lyon County Sheriff's Department anticipate that officers will be better prepared to respond to criminal activity in the area.
