Preparing for Summit

We are only a few days away from Summit 2017, and all of our final preparations here at Spillman are coming to a close! From stuffing registration bags to loading up the trucks, we are ready to share another wonderful conference with you next week.

For the past 6 months, we’ve been busy getting ready for Summit. But the preparations always seem to come to quite a head during the last few weeks. With so much to do, it’s a cumulative effort between many Spillman departments, especially our Events and Marketing teams. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the work that goes into making an event of this scale happen.

You probably don’t think about it, but every sign around the conference takes planning and a lot of work. The specific messaging and designs are worked on for months, then have to be sent off to the printer and come back in enough time to be packed up for conference.

We work hard to make sure you have everything you need for the conference in one convenient location. But it doesn’t just happen overnight. Months of work goes into creating the supplies found in your registration bag. Even just the act of getting each bag ready to go takes an assembly line!

There’s a lot to do to make Summit 2017 a success, and hopefully we aren’t the only ones getting ready. As you finish necessary preparations for the week, keep in mind that this conference will take place in Park City, Utah. With its breathtaking views, the new venue will be a beautiful setting for our conference, but it will also come with some significant changes you’ll want to plan for. Although classes will be held indoors, walking to and from classes or heading to Club Spillman will require walking outside. The weather can be far less predictable in the mountains than in the valley, so be sure to pack a coat. Right now, our weather is looking like it will be 10-15 degrees below normal in Park City for at least a few days next week, so you might want to pack a sweater or two as well. We’re also looking at the possibility of rain while we are up there, so please plan accordingly. Also, make sure you have some comfortable shoes for walking around. Park City offers some of Utah’s greatest hiking trails, so you may want to consider bringing hiking boots as well. You can check out some of those sites in our 360 degree video found here.

In addition, don’t forget to bring essentials like your toothbrush, pajamas, and phone charger! If you’re signed up to bring your own laptop to one of our pre-registered certification classes, you’ll want to make sure your computer and power cord are ready to go. And don’t forget to bring challenge coins to trade. (You might just get a new, one-of-a-kind coin to add to your collection.)

As you can see, Summit 2017 is an experience you won’t want to miss. From all of the new additions, to some of the old favorites, this conference is going to be one for the books. It’s never too late to register! If you haven’t yet, be sure to visit MySpillman right now and register for Summit 2017. We’ll see you next week!
