Spillman Flex Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD)

Spillman Flex’s computer-aided dispatch software is specifically designed and engineered for full multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional dispatching capabilities. Agencies that dispatch for multiple disciplines (Law, Fire, and EMS) can easily share call information, add additional disciplines, and keep all parties informed and up-to-date with the latest call information.

Real-Time Mobile and RMS Integration

Instead of logging into and managing multiple software systems for different divisions, Spillman provides one integrated system for all records. This allows dispatch and response information to be immediately shared between dispatchers and responding parties as it occurs. Additionally, because of the complete integration of the mobile dispatch software and the Flex RMS system, any information added by dispatchers can be immediately used by personnel to create records and reports.

The Flex CAD module allows personnel to efficiently dispatch units, add calls, and search for data while operating from the CAD command line. As dispatchers type, the CAD module provides cues to help them enter commands quickly and accurately.

CAD Mapping

Plugging data into several systems for address verification is inefficient and can result in incomplete mapping information. Instead of requiring agencies to convert mapping data to a third-party mapping system, Flex’s direct connection with Esri gives sheriff and police dispatch centers the ability to accurately geo-verify and map incoming call information in the agency’s own maps using ArcGIS services.

Robust Unit Recommendations and Response Plans

Flex CAD allows for a wide variety of unit recommendations and response plans based on agency needs. These plans can be managed from a very high level, such as designating default responses to incidents within the reporting jurisdiction, or by individual responses to very specific scenarios. For example, a dispatch center could create a response plan specifically for a structure fire at an elementary school at noon on a Tuesday.

System Customization

Flex CAD is designed to support a wide variety of dispatch preferences, from full command line dispatching to transferring call data to the integrated CAD map.  Many shortcuts, customizations, and configurations are available to provide the most robust, yet easy-to-use, computer-aided dispatch system for call takers and dispatchers to best manage their day-to-day responsibilities.
